Clan Strachan Silent Auction


By placing a bid on an item, each bidder agrees to these auction rules:

1. The auction will until 24:00 on 25 August 2020 (PST). Winners will be notified after this time.

2. The decision of the winners is that of the Clan Strachan Scottish Heritage Society (hereunder 'Society') and Clan Strachan Charitable Trust (hereunder 'Trust'), and will be final.

3. By placing a bid you are entering into an agreement to purchase the item at the offered price. The bid amount DOES NOT include the cost of shipping, insurance, broker or custom fees, or other miscellaneous shipping costs. You agree to be liable and pay for all appropriate shipping costs. If the Society or Trust provide a shipping cost, this shall be considered a good faith estimate only, and the Society/Trust shall not be held responsible or liable for misquoted shipping costs.

4. The highest bid will be deemed to be the winner. In the extreme case of where an entry error has occurred, please contact us for the retraction of your bid. If this occurs we reserve the right to offer the item to the second highest bidder.

5. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds. All items are “as is.” The Society and Trust have attempted to describe the items correctly, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, or condition of the items.

6. All items have been donated kindly by the respective parties and as such any respective terms and conditions are applicable.

7. Items have not been value appraised unless so noted. The amount you pay is normally tax deductible as a charitable contribution for U.S. residents concerning payment to the SOCIETY. Please consult your tax adviser to clarify amount of deduction. For UK residents, payments to the TRUST in Scotland may qualify for Gift Aid. Again, please consult your tax adviser to clarify.

8. Payment for items acquired by highest bid must be made in full within 72 hours of being notified by email or phone. The Society accepts payments by PayPal. Payment to the TRUST must be made electronically to our solicitor (details will be provided).

9. Following receipt of payments, all items are to be collected from the Society or can be posted if agreed via email. Please, contact prior to bidding to confirm this is possible.

10. All items will be sold only above the minimum asking bid and proceeds will go exclusively to the Society or Trust Real Property Fund.

11. The Society or Trust reserves the right to add or withdraw items, without notice, to or from the auction.

12. The Society and Trust, their elected and appointed officials, members and employees, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction cannot hold any responsibility or liability from any risks or hazards related to the items won at the auction.

13. Only bids received by email via jim@clanstrachan.org in increments of £10 will be deemed to be valid.

14. There is no limit on the maximum number of bids per person per item.

15. Webpage will be updated once per day with qualifying bids.
